Best Formats
Wheel demo + handbuilding: Instructor demos the wheel for 30 minutes (everyone watches together), then the group does handbuilding for the rest of the session. Works for any size.
Wheel rotation: For smaller groups (under 12), everyone gets time on a wheel with hands-on instruction. Higher engagement, takes more time.
Glazing workshop: Studio provides pre-fired bisque pieces. Group glazes their pieces. Studio fires and ships afterward. Fast (60-90 min), good for tight schedules.
Length
Two to three hours is the sweet spot. Less than two and people don't reach the "I'm in flow" point. More than three and people get tired and lose interest.
What to Communicate to the Team
- Wear clothes that can get clay on them
- Sleeves up, jewelry off
- You don't need any experience
- The pieces are finished by the studio and shipped/delivered 2-3 weeks later
